FROM CHEESECAKES TO COUTURE: A DREAM REALIZED
After a fulfilling 35 year career in marketing and communications, spanning broadcasting and mental health sectors with a short stint in real estate, I embarked on a new life journey in October 2023...retirement! In 2020 during Covid-19, what started as a pandemic hobby - perfecting the art of cheesecake-making - (three years later in February 2024) lead to a serendipitous encounter that would change my life.
When Betty, the founder of My Consignment/My Closet, ordered one of my cheesecakes, she casually mentioned her plans to sell her Saint John store. As someone who had been a passionate consignor for over two decades (thanks to my persistently overflowing closets!), this news struck a chord. Owning a consignment store had always been a cherished dream of mine, alongside running a bed and breakfast.
In April 2024, that dream became reality when I took ownership of the store. Drawing on my lifelong passion for fashion and my background in marketing, I saw an opportunity to reimagine the space. The store has been transformed into The Consign Boutique Saint John - an elegant destination that reflects my vision of what a premium consignment experience should be.
As a long-time consignor myself, I understand the joy of giving cherished pieces a second life and the thrill of discovering unique fashion and decor treasures.
